The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (Airports Authority) has been issued a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit for the Dulles Toll Road (DTR) by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.  The MS4 permit authorizes the discharge of stormwater and authorized non-stormwater discharges from the DTR.

Vehicle Lanes and their usage in the Dulles Corridor Toll Road Lanes The Dulles Toll Road operates four vehicle lanes eastbound and four lanes westbound.  During rush hour periods, the left lane is restricted to High Occupancy Vehicles.  The HOV lanes may also be used by vehicles where there is a left-exit to the Airport Access Highway.  The tolls due per vehicle is the same regardless of HOV vehicle status.
