The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (Airports Authority) has been issued a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit for the Dulles Toll Road (DTR) by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.  The MS4 permit authorizes the discharge of stormwater and authorized non-stormwater discharges from the DTR.  

2023 Toll Road Rates New toll rates took effect January 1, 2023. Rates for two-axle vehicles on the Dulles Toll Road went from the current $3.25 to $4.00 at the main toll plaza and from $1.50 to $2.00 on ramps. Toll increase effective January 1, 2023

Do Motorcycles Pay a toll to use the Dulles Toll Road? - Yes, all users of the Dulles Toll Road pay a toll, including motorcycles, hybrids and High Occupancy Vehicles (HOV). Motorcycles pay toll at the same rate as passenger vehicles,typically at the 2-axle vehicle rate.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority hosted a Dulles Toll Road 2010 Update to provide information to the public about the Toll Road’s finances, operations and planned improvements. There were informational exhibits and representatives from the Airports Authority present to discuss Dulles Toll Road revenue raised as a result of the enacted toll increase in 2010 and to provide information on future approved toll increases as well as what improvements to the Toll Road are planned in addition to financing a portion of the Dulles Metrorail Project.

2012 Toll Setting Information

E-ZPass electronic transponders are accepted along the Dulles Toll Road to speed the collection of tolls while keeping traffic moving.  Note: On the Dulles Toll Road, tolls are collected from "E-ZPass Flex" accounts regardless of whether the transponder's "HOV" switch is activated.
